Transformative Storytelling through Music, Movies, Conversation and Community
The Porch Festival is a space for interaction with grounded hope, individual and communal purpose, provocative and meaningful storytelling, and - frankly - enjoying life together. I truly believe that we are here not just to save the world, but to be changed. Our vision for the Porch Festival is that it would be a place where a couple hundred people could come together to take life seriously without taking ourselves too seriously; meet brilliant people from all kinds of places; and better understand ourselves, our place in the world, what we can do for the good, and the ways in which we can authentically give ourselves a break.
A campfire gathering for the soul.
The event runs from Thursday evening March 9th through Sunday morning March 12th, with a range of storytelling, music, cinema, breakout sessions, talks, and opportunities for quiet or just hanging out with friends. We'll have a dozen or more speakers/musicians/facilitators, and lots of options for engaging a better story and way of being, including deepening learning around how to respond to the enormous pressures and uncertainties of the current moment with more life.
The current global crisis is a crisis of storytelling - the path to transforming that crisis requires us to learn and share a better story.
The festival takes place at Montreat near Asheville, NC, and part of the festival will take place in downtown Asheville at Diana Wortham Theatre (for a mini Movies & Meaning segment of the festival).
We’ll post a schedule for the festival and open registration soon. Watch this space.
