HEART OF A DOG

If you’re looking for something that mingles cinema and music and meditation and humor and the dance of life and death, check out Laurie Anderson’s delicious, warm and inviting film HEART OF A DOG. It’s intelligent, wise and loving, awake in its spirituality, aware of the fine line between profundity and pretension, and all the more welcome for being such a personal story. Anderson made it in the period following the death of her husband Lou Reed, and it’s dedicated to his “magnificent spirit”. So it’s not just a lovely film, but a very gracious gift.
