TWO FEATHERS - TED LYDDON HATTEN

TWO FEATHERS - TED LYDDON HATTEN

I picked a branch from a pile of wood destined for a Colorado campfire.

Carving into the aspen I found 40 feathers.

Here is the story of two of them.

____

They were one before they were two

Nested in a silent embrace.

Split the aspen

Split the pair

Two lost feathers

Found.

They were two before they were one

Nesting in a soft silence.
